Adventurous Honeymoon in Thailand

A honeymoon in Thailand often conjures up images of spending lazy days on the country’s idyllic beaches. But at Creative Events Asia we know some couples want a bit more adventure. So, here’re our top 5 experiences for honeymooners looking to fill up their days beyond the beach.

Rock Climbing – Krabi
Rock climbing together might not be the typical way to enjoy a honeymoon in Thailand, but it’s definitely a lot of fun! Head to Railay Beach in Krabi, where karst limestone cliffs tower over powdery-soft sands, making it an ideal place to mix up adventure with chilled out bouts of sunbathing.

Hilltribe Trekking – Tha Ton
Although a small provincial town, Tha Ton in northern Thailand is a great base to further explore the surrounding hilltribe villages. Book a trekking tour with the town’s guesthouses and enjoy the unique opportunity to discover Thailand’s rural scenery, indigenous culture and local colour.

White Water Rafting – Chiang Mai
A white water rafting trip in Chiang Mai will definitely get the adrenalin going. There are numerous local companies to choose from, so grab a paddle and brace yourself for tackling over 20 rapids along the Mea Teang River’s 10 kilometre stretch.

Freediving – Ko Lanta
They say a successful marriage is all about communicating. Pretty tricky when you’re 30 metres underwater surviving on a single lungful of air. We’d say freediving (diving without breathing apparatus) is at the extreme end of ways to spend your honeymoon in Thailand, but Ko Lanta sure makes a beautiful destination to give it a go.

Bungee Jumping – Phuket
Phuket’s beaches might steal the limelight, but there’s a wilder side to this popular honeymoon island. For those brave enough, take the plunge and experience a 50-metre bungee jump over Phuket’s Jungle Lagoon in Kathu.
