Thailand weather- When’s the best time to get married in Thailand?

Thailand offers the perfect ingredients for an unforgettable and romantic destination wedding, with a rich variety of eye-catching and memorable locations to tie the knot; from the clear beaches of Koh Samui, Phuket, Krabi and other islands of the Andaman Sea, to the tranquility of Chiang Mai and the temples of the amber-robed monks of magical Bangkok. You may already know that Thailand is the place for you, but are asking yourself the best time of year to have your Thailand Wedding in regards to the weather.

Thailand is primarily warm and cozy all year round, making it an ideal wedding and honeymoon destination. Thailand’s rainy seasons vary from region to region, but overall it is noted that from June-October is when the whole of Thailand experiences most of it’s rain. On the west coast around the islands of Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and Krabi the wettest months tend to be July-October and the safest and dryest months to visit being November-February. March –May the weather can become quiet hot and sticky in the lead up to the monsoon.

On the east coast around the islands of Koh Tao, Koh Samui and Koh Phangan the weather patterns are a little different with the ideal weather being from June-September. After September on the gulf coast theres a higher chance of rain during the Monsoon season. During the monsoon it typically doesn’t rain every day and often when it does its just short heavy downpours for an hour or two so often Wedding Ceremonies still go ahead as planned. The great thing about this time of year is that there are some great bargains to be had on accommodation rates and packages. Thais believe rain on your Wedding day is lucky as it cleans and purifies the body ready for marriage!

While as a whole Thailand doesn’t experience a lot of typically “cold” seasonal weather, some cold snaps do occur, primarily in December and especially in the North and Northeast regions. If you do decided to travel to Thailand in December and January, which is the most popular time to visit, make sure you book early! December boasts the ideal weather for many travelers as it is cool but still beach appropriate. Northern Thailand has the fewest rainy months, making it one of the more ideal and popular destinations for Honeymooners.

Thailand offers mostly ideal hot sunny weather through-out the year, making it a popular Wedding and Honeymoon destination. So enjoy and take advantage of what Thailand has to offer – including its fantastic weather!
